I am a Finnish artist-designer working with glass, but also with illustration and ceramics. I’ve specialized in Graal technique, which allows me to trap images between layers of blown glass. The technique creates a sense of depth and looking into another world. I aspire to create surreal scenes that do not reveal everything on one look.
I’ve graduated as Master of Arts at Aalto University, School of Art, Design and Architecture in 2015. Originally I’m from Tampere, but nowadays based in Helsinki. Most of my designs and artworks are made in close co-operation with Finnish craftsmen.
My glass art has been featured in international exhibitions such as Talents at Tendence Design Fair, Frankfurt, European Glass Experience touring exhibition in Finland and in Murano, Italy, and Handmade Scandinavian Glass Starting All Over touring exhibition in Scandinavia.
In 2022-23 I am involved in multidisciplinary PhotonArt project which investigates glass and glaze colourants. I join forces with the researchers at Tampere University Photonics laboratory to know more about glass colour and apply the findings in my own art.
